About Us

Hydrants of Hope was founded in 2012, by the late Tulsa Firefighter, Mark Meyer. After receiving the unsettling news that he had epithelioid sarcoma, Mark and his family experienced the difficulty of battling cancer firsthand. While going through his own treatment, Mark witnessed so many families struggling with their children who were battling pediatric cancer. Mark knew he had to do something to reduce the stress these families were experiencing. Not long after his cancer diagnosis, Mark and his wife Selina created Hydrants of Hope. They started small with selling hydrant pins and now Hydrants of Hope has raised more than $550,000.00 to help families battling pediatric cancer!

The Tulsa Metro Women on Fire was founded in 2018 by Tulsa firefighters Kendall Taylor and Alexa Reed. In 2019, one of the only ALL-FEMALE firefighter calendars in the country was released. We are blessed to be able to support Hydrants of Hope in their mission to help families battling pediatric cancer. Thanks to the support of our community and everyone that has purchased a calendar, a t-shirt, or made a financial donation, we have been able to donate more than $85,000.00 to Hydrants of Hope since 2019. Not only has the creation of Tulsa Metro Women on Fire allowed us to raise money for a wonderful cause, but it has also given us the opportunity to spend time with the kids in our own town who are fighting one of the most difficult battles, pediatric cancer.  We get into the fire service to help our citizens and this is just an extension of that desire. We couldn’t be luckier to have this opportunity and we appreciate everyone that has supported us thus far!
